i watch adam stim and i wonder if he realizes he does it. if i call his name trying to redirect him he gets angry and sometimes screams, sometimes he seems surprised like he was not really there (make sense?) and other times he just stops and moves on to something else. do autistic kids realize they are stimming? and should i tell him he is stimming? explain to him why he is doing what he is doing? and if i should, how do i say it to a 6 yr old?
