Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.

I really need your help on this one PLEASE! I visited my sons class yesterday as I sometimes do and I noticed there was a little girl fairly new that can't swallow her saliva. She loves to hug and push down other kids. K let me paint the picture for you,so you can help me to know what to do. She has it all over her hands, cause she likes sticking her hands in her mouth, she doesn't know how to swallow, so it's all over her blouce, all over her desk, toys, and she got it all over my arm, cause she got excited to see my baby. I asked helper if parents are aware? She said "they don't care". It really didn't seem to bother her either. At the end of class only her hands were cleaned up. None of the toys she handeled, desk or other kids she managed to spit on. I feel so bad, however I'm concerned re I don't want other kids getting sick. I luv all the kids. Am I being overly concerned? HELP!

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
There is not any droolers in Olivers current and he is home about 40% of the time it seems with pink eye or flu or bad cold. I think we need to be tolerent of the "gross" things in life and understand the situation of servicing all needs is what is important.
