Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
AF and a septal atrial aneurysm

Hello everybody!! My name is Julie and I am from Scotland.
I have had AF for 6 years which is currently getting more and more symptomatic, it is usually over 200bpm, and my blood pressure drops to dangerously low levels.
I had an attempted ablation last year but they had to abort it due to findng a septal atrial aneurysm. I was just wandering if anyone else has an septal atrial aneurysm?
Also I am on Tambacor (Flecainide) and was wandering if anyone was like me struggle with the fatigue?
I have it so bad that most days I am sleeping all day.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have not heard of atrial aneurysm, but I can find out about for sure.
Take care and keep us informed of your condition.

I have never heard of Rythmol and Cuomadin. When my AF is fast they give me flecainide IV and amniodirone, then my AF turns into a flutter. I have been considering asking for a pacemaker then the rhythm would be controlled right? Without the danger of having the ablation? I would like to know what others feel about that.
I guess I should be glad that Rythmol has been good for me so far.

I too have had my share of the unusual and unknown. You just have to "learn to live with it".

As I have mention before, my doctor is hoping this will help me and I will not have to go in for any other surgery.
He is concerned that without the Coumadin, I could have a stroke.
