Ok, so I ended up with severe asthma due to mold exposure, but my kids all have respiratory issues as well. My 5 year old has mild asthma and beyond nighttime coughing hasn't had too much trouble with it. Today, though, he has a cold and is coughing consistently. He's on flovent, xyrtec, singulair and xopenex and right now nothing seems to be helping too much. He's not having an asthma attack, but I know he's going to be sore if he keeps coughing like this. Normally I would just dose him with cough meds and let him sleep, but I've read that asthma and cough meds don't mix. When I have a cold I immediately end up on Levaquin, so I'm a little unsure about what to do. Any suggestions? In advance, any herbal remedies that contain alcohol will not be helpful to me.... Thank you!
