I know this may sound like an odd question, but does anyone know if practicing holding your breath can help with your lung endurance and/or asthma? I ask because I really enjoy playing underwater hockey, but I'm not sure if I should continue doing it with asthma. Between the serious amounts of breath holding and the indoor pool environment, I don't know if i'd be doing more harm than good.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
