does anyone's child get distracted in school to the point where the teacher has to remind them to do certain things every day??? had a conference with her teacher yesterday - i am very concerned now as is she because it's April and she still has to be told to do certain simple things like get her folder out and give in homework, etc. She has a hard time transitioning as well - teacher has to keep telling her to look at where everyone else is and join them. she moved her to the front of the class again and dropped her in a reading level because she has a hard time comprehending the stories. she reads VERY well and can get the jist of the story but the teacher is concerned that she isn't gonig further with the comprehension. my daughter does have absence seizure (mild form of epilepsy - she would zone out for a few seconds) but that is under control now with meds. not sure what is going on - i have tried talking to her about if anything is wrong in school or at home but she has no problems. she has a therapy appt to see if maybe she has aspergers or ADD or ? The teacher is going to have the school counselor observe my daughter and do a checklist for ADD/ADHD, etc. i should know in about two weeks what the results are. i just dont know what is going on with her - ????
