Help, my son was recently diagnosed with Asperger's after being dx as ADHD first. School is in denial to aspergers where his IEP is concerned (of course because it will cost them more $). They only want to take him out to a resource class for language arts and math and I really feel he needs a 1:1. How do I go about getting an advocate to help me? Are there free services where I won't have to pay a lawyer for this? Also, does anyone know anything about applying for social security for their child with aspergers? My son's psychologist suggested I do this.
