Ok I have posted a few threads here about my son. I am looking at having him tested for the high spectrum autistic disorders including Aspergers. I have read a lot of posts by people who can explain how things are in thier body.
I see things, my mom sees things, my sons teachers see things, His dad sees nothing. How do I go about getting help for my son when I dont really know whats going on in his head. At 3 it was so much easier because he wasnt expected to have much of an opinion on things. At 14 though you would expect that he would be able to. When asked he has a very grandiose idea of who he is and doesnt see his social inabilities. I dont know how much of what he does is simply because he doesnt want to and is being a teen ager in rebelion or really has true problems. Most of the things I am seeing are a life long issue just other things were more dominant like self harm and obsessions. Violent out bursts and inability to grasp social ideas and needing LOTs of coaching to do so say like friendship.
I guess my question is how do I really get him help if he is in denial about the reality of what people see and think? I do I seperate out being a teenager and having true issues? We had a topic close to this on the BP board about helping some one get DXed as an adult who is in denial. You just cant.... Can you get a teen properly dxed if they dont see the true issues? especailly when its a high spectrum disorder?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I figure if we have a good idea of what makes him who he is what we do with it and most important what he does with it is his choice... I just want him to have the best tools to finish school with
