I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis in my hands and feet. My rheumatologist tells me that x-rays of my thumbs show no "padding" left between the bones in the base of my thumb...it's bone on bone. I TOLD him they hurt! Anyway, he will refer me for surgery on them when I am ready. My questions; first, has anyone had the surgery? I'm told it's very successful in stopping the pain. Second, I am convinced that my fibro causes any pain I feel to be "amplified." So I'm wondering if the surgeries might cause worse pain for a while or might cause a flare. I will post this on the fibro group too.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
