I take regular trips for my remicade as an outpatient, mtx injections at home. Recently my dr. started me on this Sulfasalazine (sulfa drug) (pills) and it is really helping me along with the other med.'s. It is an older drug. I was going to start on the new drug orencia, but I had such a hassle with my insurance company,(didn't want to pay but 70% leaving me to pay 1,500 every month) she decided to keep me on remicade and try this sulfa drug and it really has helped. I am really pleased. I still have flare -ups but it is not as bad as it was with just the remicade and mtx alone. Anyone heard of Sulfasalazine?
