Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction.
Well DS friends, following a rocky 3 months which include an appendectomy in May, a recurrence in July with the same symptoms (I only have 1 appendix...duh to the docs!) and another occurence this past week, the RA docs only response to me after I called him to tell him it happened again, is "drop the humira." No words telling me to get back on naproxen or hey, come on in and we'll talk about it, no nothing!!! I am scheduled to see another gastro doc on Wed. to see if he can tell me why I keep getting abdominal pain which eventuallys localizes in my right lower quadrant and is accompanied by fever. I lost about 4 days of work the last 2 times and am not myself for at least a week. I have been off meth since the surgery and now I have to say goodbye to humira. Sorry to boohoo and blab on your discussion space, I usually save it for my journal.
