I'm only 28 and following a recent car accident back in the beginning of April 2011. I had neck and severe low back pain with shooting pains down my legs. I got a MRI of the lumbar spine last Saturday and today I got the diagnosis of Degenerative Arthritis of the Spine L 4-5 and . L5-S1. I tried to ask more questions, but it was just a secretary reading what the Dr wrote to tell me. Right now I'm in almost constant pain and am taking oxycodone to get thru my day at home and work. I sit for most of the day but the pain is awful and if I get up and stand too long or walk too much, the pain shoots down both legs. I am in Physical Therapy so now that they have a diagnosis I'm sure I"ll learn new exercises. I'm just concerned that I will end up with a spinal fusion surgery before I'm 30. Sorry for the rant but I'm scared and open to ideas. (I also have post concussive syndrome b/c of the accident, and I had brain surgery last year....I just can't win)
