Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction.
I can't remember if I introduced myself here. This will be the first time or the last time.
I have had fibromyalgia for many years. I don't take anything for it, pain wise. I did take elavil for something else once on a trial run and it really helped the fibromyalgia a great deal. My muscles didn't contract.
I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis in my knees more in my right knee about three weeks ago and I am still in shock. The surgeon said it was the worse case of someone my age and that he also would not do
knee replacement which is fine with me. I don't want to be the Bionic Woman.
He told me I would have to rest all week. I can't vacuum or walk far etc. I must admit I thought I would go nuts today but I am actually ok with it and managed to do some mini chores.
Has anyone tried the PACE program or join any in person groups with organizations? I would be interested in hearing about any services, books, websites you have found helpful.
