Our 11 year old son was diagnosed with CM1 this month, he also has a large syrinx and a tethered cord. Our neurosurgeon has recommended he have surgery (decompression and tethered cord). We are scared for him and uneducated about the recovery and what to expect. Does anyone know what we can expect with and 11 year old? What is recovery like (hospital, time off school, etc.)? What will his life be like after, he is very athletic and loves to play sports, what will he be able to do and not do? We appreciate your feedback, thank you!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
