I'm looking for some advice on how medication has helped folks with anxiety. I've recently started Xanax and all it seems to do is make me sleepy. I'm not even sure if it helps b/c I take it and then fall asleep. It's hard for me b/c I have 3 kids at home with me and it's summer break. I'd rather be spending time with them but can't seem to make myself leave the house or even my bedroom sometimes which makes me feel guilty which adds to the anxiety...etc...etc. So I've been working with a counselor who suggested I start some medicine due to my physical problems with extreme muscle tension he believes is caused by my anxiety. Does your body eventually adjust to the medicine where I can actually stay awake and start living again?? Or should I ask for a different type of medicine that maybe doesn't make me sleep so much. I've literally just started it so it could be that I just need time to adjust to it?? Anyone with any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
