Different things work at different times.
2 years ago I was put on Lexapro, I gained 25 pounds but had total relief from all my anxiety/panic attacks.
I got off of it 3 months later.
Last September my anxiety returned, I didn't want to go on the Lexapro because of the weight gain.
My Dr set me up on Zoloft and Ativan.
I lost 30 pounds.
Finally 5 months later all my symptoms were gone so I got off of both of them.
This July, my anxiety returned, I went back on the Zoloft and the Ativan.
I lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks. Had really bad side effects.
I switched to Paxil. 1 week at 10 mg and then the full dose of 20 mg. The same side effects were still there.
I took it upon myself to lower the dosage of my Paxil to 10 mg.
The side effects are gone. I still take the .5mg of Ativan every morning. But my anxiety and the panic attacks are gone also.
I guess it just depends where you are at in your life, and what is going on around you.
Good luck!
