Besides the fact my job brings me a lot of stress I also have a lot of anxiety. Not just anxiety of what is expected of me but anxiety over co-workers. The day ultimately varies on how the mood/stability of the pharmacist is. Also how lead technicians moods are. I try my best not to let those around me influence my mood or anxiety but I find it extremely difficult. It's like I know HOW I want to feel but have trouble not allowing those around me to influence me. Some days are worse than others since I know who has a tendency to be rude, snappy or just plain bitchy- I try my best to mentally prepare myself but it is most def hard. I'm working on the after effects of work - stress management by starting at a gym yesterday. Now I have to work on the pre-work anxiety. ...

Hi. I'm a 66 year old Brit. I've had anxiety on odd occasions since I was 13 but much more frequently in the past 3-4 years. It's never for no reason but due to reacting with a sense of doom and impending disaster to problems that others seem to cope with. I guess I should be grateful that I don't have it all the time but I feel so wretched and helpless when I do have it. I notice that I always...

You take care of business like you usually do. Keep a smile in your voice, and treat your co-workers polite. If they engage in negative behavior, ignore it. Not your problem.
You are being paid for the work you provide to the company, not for what anyone else is doing. Remember that voice of "I can do this" is for you!
Best wishes!

Guess what my first step in the right direction was...
going to the gym!!
Seriously I went to tone up but found the inner strength and peace i got from going made me less vulnerable somehow..
Then every time I was worried about going to work or had bad shift or anyone was upsetting me..i went to the gym and worked it off. It helped me feel physically and mentally strong and improved my self esteem and confidence.
I'm pretty sure it'll help you!!.
Enjoy..achieve..feel strong!
