I have anxiety issues related to my hyperthyroidism that is caused by Graves' Disease. I have been taking Ativan as needed, but feel that it may not be enough. I am hesitant to take anti-anxiety/depressants because of all the negative side effects I hear about. Do they actually work? Does your sex life go down the tubes? Can you eventually come off of them? Are "brain zaps," feeling like a jolt of lightning has hit you when you're trying to fall asleep, common?
