General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

So lately I've been doing pretty well with my negative thinking and health obsessions, so of course now this week I have to catch a cold. I have a sore throat and the back of my tongue looks white. So now of course I am thinking I have thrush, which immediately makes me think HIV, or cancer.
Why can't I just be sick and rest and relax like most people? Why must I already immediately assume the worst? I'm so sick of thinking like this. I just want to not be terrified of everything all the time.
Also, I was sick for pretty much the entire Christmas through new years and now I am sick again. Is this too often to be sick? Should I be worried that I've been sick that many times this winter? I'm so tired of worrying. :-(

I recently started a job at a big technology company. The position is inbound sales in a call center. We went through 5 weeks of training where we were shown on the computer what to do and how to use the billing system. The problem is I am a hands on learner and just watching someone do something isn't enough for me to retain the info. This week we started taking actual calls. Many in my class...

I've just had a telephone consultation with my cardiologist. I discussed all my symptoms. He's decided to check my cholestrol, and have an echocardiogram also though the one I am worried about due to major allergy problems is a CT Scan, which involves having IV contrast dye inserted into my vein. This thought really scares me, the last time I had anything injected into me was an anaesthetic...
I have been telling myself to treat the symptoms and this is only temporary. It will pass.
You may find The Panic Attacks Workbook by David Carbonell useful in dealing with your health anxieties. It provides useful ways to deal with your health anxieties and those thoughts that keep on popping into your head. Instead of fighting those thoughts or beating yourself up for having them, the book will give you strategies to manage and deal with them such as taking them to absurd extremes.
Anyways, I wish you the best of luck.
Yikes! Don't detox with Diatomaceous Earth! It causes tissues damage (microscopic cuts). Some even has "bait" added to it to attract bedbugs to come to piles of it so the sharp crushed up shells can destroy their exoskeletons and dehydrates them. Please don't swallow this stuff. There are safe detox options. This is not one of them!
You're taking what you need to get better, and so let the fun side of being sick have the floor for a little while.
Yes, the fun side.
Think about the things you do for yourself when you are sick, and try one of the funnier ones.
I hope you feel better soon.
I'm just so terrified that there its something wrong with me. This anxiety just blows everything out of proportion and makes me feel so out of control!
Briman I will definitely check out the workbook. I've heard about it before and it seems people find it helpful. And as for the fun side of being sick that made me laugh because I know I have given that same advice to someone else before (we never take our own advice lol). I agree that it is nice to just baby yourself and eat soup and relax when sick! I'm feeling better so that helps ease the anxiety a little, but I still wonder why I didn't fight off the bug to begin with. Why couldn't my immune system catch it before I got sick? Oh well, just the anxiety talking I guess. Thanks for all of your help everyone!
