However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Through this analysis, I see that most of us feel anxiety due to NOT FEELING GOOD ENOUGH. WE ARE NOT WORTHY! Fear of rejection is a fear you are not good enough also. These were messages recorded in our minds by our parents for the most part. It is very sad. Extremely sad. They could not look at themselves so they put their shame on us. It is very sad.
Well I for one am not going to take it anymore. It had been destroying my life. But things are changing now as I take charge of this devestating and debilitating problem.
Let's look at the rest of the analysis:
First though, we need to realize something very important. Shame is a taboo subject. No one wants to admit they feel shame. But that is the source of our anxiety and we need to look at it. I am telling you that it has turned my life around. Suddenly through the identification of the problem and where it came from, I can effectively drive out all thoughts of self-doubt thus reducing my anxiety levels and to top it all off, I have been feeling much better about myself.
So, the analysis:
People feel...
not good enough generally
we fear rejection because they are inadequate
we feel we cannot handle what life throws at us because we do not have the resources
we feel bad because of things we have done in the past
we feel the need to be overly successful to hide our low self esteem.
I say, enough already. This is ridiculous. To get better, you have to get really ANGRY at yourself for letting yourself feel bad because you are not bad, but you are believing what your parents, your school or your husband or whoever told you.
GIVE BACK THE SHAME. SAY THIS IS NOT YOUR SHAME. IT IS THEIRS.
Back to the analysis: A lot of people are feeling localized fear--like fear of the unknown or fear of fear. This is a situation that has gotten completely out of control. Look back, look deeper. Identify the true perpetrators of your shame. They are there.
Others mention symptoms like needing to feel in control or having difficulty expressing emotion. The latter is a crucial step in healing. If you have this problem, I would suggest you go full out expressing your feelings online. Later you can move to the real world.
Some people say it is a chemical imbalance and they are right. But what they may or may not realize is that all emotions are chemical reactions and when you have been shamed enough, your chemicals get unbalanced. Drugs sort of help, but in the end, it is the power of your will and the self knoweledge that will get you out of this hell.
Believe me. I am seeing it happen in my own life.
In my next post, I will explain exactly how to rid yourself of shame and anxiety. Until then my thougts are with you. Your journey is my journey.
The short version is
1. Identify shaming thoughts--feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy
2. Watch your mind. Every time you think a shaming thought counter it with a positve affirmation such as: I have a lot to offer....
3. You don't need to watch your mind that closely for you will surely know it has been active by the way you feel. Do you feel bad. Then look at your thoughts.
4. Read, "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle to learn how to watch your thoughts and even control them.
5. Develop a support group. Start here. Then move into the real world. People will begin to tell you good things about yourself. You will start to feel better.
6. Remember: Do not let yourself think one more bad thing about yourself. It is over. No more. New Chapter. Get angry. Take control of your life.
7. Regarding the anxiety such as for sleeping, tell yourself: I'll think about this tomorrow. Do deep breathing and concentrate on breath. Work on yourself during the day, and let it go at night.
I also wrote a post in Root Cause of Anxiety on page 2 with further suggestions.
I wish you all peace and happiness. It is your right. Be all that you can be. Don't let this demon destroy you. I will not.

there is a lot of interesting stuff here. I have chronic anxiety and having read your message I would say that it ismade up from many of the contributing factors. Learning to deal with stuff in the day is a very important process. I sleep much better now but it isnt half painful during the day - LOL

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
