General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I have depression & major anxiety. Started Paxil 10 mg on 11/6-was told to double up yesterday plus took an ambien cr 6.75 30 minutes later at midnite-nurse at hospital said it was ok to do.I've never in my life had to take any drugs like this. Husband left after 38 years. I only slept 4 hours-woke up feeling weird. CVS phatmacist said combo of Paxil & Ambien might have done it. Doc doesn't prescribe xanax like I've taken here and there-he said Kloloxin??? Not sure if that's it. I just don't know what to do-I live alone now and scared of these reactions.
anybody know anything about this??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I know that Paxil doesn't work for everyone, but in my case it has worked very well. But it does take time to work its best, somewhere around 3-4 weeks once the correct dosage is found for you. IIRC, I started with 20mg, which was increased to 30mg when the depression improved, but not the anxiety. The 30mg dose has taken care of both issues fairly well.
However, my doc does also prescribe Xanax for me when needed - I only take it when a true panic attack kicks in, which thankfully is not too often any more.
Also, I do not know what Kloloxin is, but here is web site run by the US National Institute of Health on which you can look it up: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginformation.html
Good Luck! I hope you find the right med combination to help you feel better. Once that happens, the difference is amazing.

Antidepressants are great when you find the right one. Antidepressants don't work the same way for everyone. It takes at least 4 - 6 weeks to be able to make a judgement on whether it is working or not. Then they might adjust the dose up or down and then it is another 4 - 6 weeks to see it that will work. There is no way to be sure that you have the right one and the right dosage on the first shot. It's because we are all wired differently.
What you most likely experienced was a reaction to the Ambien. I've not really heard many people who react that way to Paxil. Especially since you have been taking it for almost a month. It may have been due to the increase in dosage, but then again, there is no way to really tell.
It sounds like you have a lot of stress in your life... a real understatement it sounds like. Find a doctor that will talk to you. If they act like they are presured for time, they aren't worth having. You deserve better.
