Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
One thing that helped me overcome procrastination was if my mom or a teacher would help me with a task. For example, if my mom said, "Clean up your room," I would go in my room, feel overwhelmed, look around helplessly see something interesting like a game and start playing. An hour later when my mom checked back, my room was still a total mess. But if instead of yelling she said let's clean it up together. I could then take my cue from her and together we could clean things up. The next time she didn't have to help me as much and eventually I would get to the point where I could do it myself. I just needed help getting started.
My father never made my mother do anything around the house--use kids had to it all--well now that us kids aren't home to do he yells at my mom all the time for being lazy--us kids tell him--DAD YOU CREATED THAT MONSTER--NOW YOU DEAL WITH IT--do you understand what I am trying to say?--there has to be some kind of ground rules in your house and in your life--even with your kids--my son is not even 2 yet and we work with him on only having one book at time out for reading, and when he is done with it, it goes back in the cabinet--he is really good about doing that--his toys is another story!!!!!
