Anxiety Support Group

Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate an anxiety disorder.

pantophobia/ despondent

Three years ago I went through a trauma that put me in and out of psychosis for 1 1/2 years. I am now out of psychosis but have been left with a severe form of anxiety called pantaphobia which is literally "fear of everything".
I have been in 6 psychiatric hospitals, had over 20 shock treatments. gone through 30 TMS treatments and tried over 30 medications and nothing takes this terror away.
I know of no one else that has this disorder and I was wondering if anyone else has ever heard of it. It has been so tormenting that I have attempted suicide twice now and am desperate to find a support group for this mental disorder. Can anyone out there help me?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds really difficult to deal with. I haven't heard of this before but wanted to say I'm here and would support you anytime i'm on ds. ((hugs))

Perhaps you can get a few cd's, like relaxation techniques which may help. You also may want to look into books. I find writing about your experiences helpful, too. And, of course, prayer (if you're "spiritual"). Music is a great influence on my moods, and if you can watch movies are TV shows that are funny laughter is a great healer. Good luck in your recovery - I hope these suggestions along with support from others on this forum helps. I'll keep you in my prayers/thoughts.
