I take Paxil for the long term, and Xanax for right then and there. I take a Xanax before i have to talk to someone or go out and it's like drinking a couple beers and i feel relaxed.
1. Get to a therapist and find out what the real issue is that is causing you to feel this way so you can work through it.
2. Get some exercise and sunlight.
3. Try relaxation CD's or Yoga.

5. Get to your doctor and tell him you have terrible anxiety and panic and want to try getting on meds.
It took me years to get help. Years of suffering through terrible bouts of seasonal despressive disorder and anxiety and panic. It only gets worse unless you do something to stop it. I fought it, but I'm on wellbutrin now and I feel like a different person I'm actually living life and loving it. I don't spend 98% of my day in anxiety mode. I can actually focus on living. Oh yeah, this board too is a godsend. Keep journals and get your thoughts out here it really helps. Good luck
