Has anyone done mental imagery? If so what the name of it? My used menatl imagery when I was in college. It was a professor that made tapes for me. I have relaxation music, but if I listen to someone telling me to relax, take breath,imagine a happy place etc.......

It's like visualization. Anything can be visualized in your mind - that makes you feel loved, calm, like a sun shining on your head down your spine etc. OR a beautiful garden where you go and plant flowers. make it as beautiful as you want. or you can see yourself on the beach or visiting a beautiful island. whatever brings you joy and happiness, visualize it more and more and soon it becomes second nature to do and then think of a word like relax so that when you say it your body will respond to it to bring you into the calm relaxed state quickly.
