This is definately anxiety. Make sure you follow up with your doctor and take the medication as perscribed. You'll get a handle on it, it just takes some time.

Yes, you are definitely experiencing anxiety. Continue taking you dr.'s advice and make sure you are listening to your body. When I was experiencing intense anxiety/panic attacks, I was given Klonopin. I took .5 mg to 1 mg when I felt an attack coming on. It usually worked well, but left me feeling sedated and "drugged". Eventually, with a healthy combo of therapy, Paxil, and Klonopin, when needed, I was able to anticipate when an attack was coming on and found alternative ways to combat an attack, such as deep breathing, putting my head between my legs, lying down. Again, this took time. Give yourself all the time you need. :) We're here for you.

Your symptoms are typical of others dealing with anxiety and panic as well as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Have you thought about psychotherapy. Xanax is great for immediate relief. However, it does not treat the underlying cause. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is great for dealing with these symptoms in the long run.

What did your doctor say when he prescribed the Xanax?

It sure sounds like anxiety. My doctor also prescribed Xanox for my anxiety. How long have you been on this medication? I'm asking cause when I was taking mine it would work but it also made me loose alot of weight. I didn't get hungry at all and would mostly make me feel like a mummy. I am not taking Xanox anymore. What I may be going thru rite now is the withdrawel affects of Xanox. Which makes me have my anxiety attacks. i am now eating much better and feel better than when I was on the Xanox. I'm here if you have any ?'.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
