I THINK YOU YOU CAN GAIN CONFIDENCE AND STILL LEARN TO LIVE WITH HAVING ANXIETY. ALOT OF SPORTS AND PROFESSIONAL PERFORMERS HAVE TO BATTLE ANXIETY. THEY LEARN TO MANAGE IT. THE DRUGS ARE NOT THAT BAD. I HAVE BEEN ON AND OFF THEM , I USES THEM TO HELP MANAGE THE DISORDER. DO NOT LET ANXIETY RUN YOUR LIFE.

Wow, could you have chosen a tougher path--social phobia and performing? Did you choose that path to force yourself to confront your anxiety?--very gutsy, but will it work in the long run? It is so hard to back away from what we have decided is our path, and choose another. Have you any thoughts on that? As far as anxiety and performance, talk with you doc about beta blockers-lots of times using a med for a while can put you in a position to learn to deal once the incapacitating effects of anxiety are controlled.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
