I've heard about St.John's wort, I haven't tried it. Just check with your doctor...sometimes too much isn't good I hear. But I do believe in natural remedies. Granted my anxiety isn't severe (thank God), but I tried Vetiver oil, and Lavendar oil, and they work! I just spray some on when I feel anxious, and it usually calms me. It's been successful every time. good luck on the the st.john's wort. Also, I like to do free writing to help with the anxiety. I found out about it online. What you do is sit ALONE, in a quiet room, and you basically just write whatever words come to your mind. You keep writing no matter what terrible things, or words you think up. You write NONSTOP for 10 minutes. After the 10 mins, you read your paper, and you look for common themes. Those are the things that are bothering you. But listen....the thing is that the next time you write, you try to think of solutions...or you try to get to apoint where you can think up solutions. It sounds easy, but you'll be amazed at all the ideas floating around in your head. BUT ALSO, these writings are only for YOU...NO ONE ELse. that's what makes the writing work. It's only for your eyes. After those 10 minutes, and after you read your paper, you DESTROY the papers. You shred it, rip it up, or you throw it in a garbage can, that no one will ever find it in. That's very important. Otherwise, you wont be so open in your future writings. Good luck. P.S.Yes, I beleive meditation works. I've tried it, and it's great to do a couple of minutes a day..the free writing works for me as a kind of meditation.
