Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. Now my son s different,he gets extremely agitated and cannot settle. He is on a lot of meds so it is usually better by night fall.In the morning he is very bad.
He has been on a pension for 9 years because of his anxiety and depression.
I once awoke like that. I was sure that would stop breathing if I fell back asleep. I was convinced that was going to die that night. So I got up and kissed my children's heads and said goodbye, I love you...went back to bed and held my husband as tight as I could and said goodbye to him and all other's I loved. Eventually I went back to sleep, but I awoke the next morning and everyone was fine. A panic attack during your sleep, especially in REM state will intensify any state of mind. Your dream, which you do not recall triggered the chemicals in your brain to malfunction. Next time it happens, keep a piece of paper and a pen by your bed. When you awake like that, right away, grab that pen and write what you are feeling and what you are thinking about. YOU HAVE TO KEEP WRITTING until you have a concious grasp of control of your brain. Then stop, take a couple of deep cleansing breaths and read what you wrote. Try to see if you can notice anything that's written that is relatable to being a "trigger" for an attack.
I hope you feel better soon and let me know how things go. I also hope I've been of some help to you.
