Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

When my anxiety is really bad I am usually nauseated and can't eat...but then when it subsides a little I am ravenous....but sometimes when I eat I seem to eat too fast and I notice I get shaky and anxious while eating.....do I have an issue with food? I am not overweight at all. I am 5'5" and I weigh 126 pounds.

It is probably your subconscuous telling you to slow down whilte eating. Sitting down to eat used to be one of my triggers for a panic attack although I do not know why.

stop right there missy! b4 you go thinkin that u hav an 'issue' with food. lets get this in perspective - if you are anxious, its difficult to eat, that goes for pretty much everyone i reckon, even my dog wont eat, if i leave him alone and leave a treat 4 him its still there wen i get in! cos he dosnt like being alone!!) if you eat fast, well so would anyone that was starving hungry! an as 4 the shakes an being anxious, this is cos if you dont eat regulary, this plays havoc with your blood sugar levels, causing physical symptoms, such as the shaking! so in my opinion your 'normal' kiddo! so stop worrying now! also even if your not hungry, but its meal time, try an force a snack down, some fruit of somthin light and this mite stop it from happening, trust me, i'm a doctor! only jokin, but i sounded like one then!!! hope this helps xx vicky xx

Hiya, I get the same thing-if I'm in a situation that triggers off my anxiety I feel really nauseous, horrible etc, but the minute I'm out of that situation I'm starving-like I'll come home and just eat sooo fast. I don't think you have a problem with food-it makes sense that we feel physically ill when stressed-think of the whole "butterflies in your stomach" analogy. When your anxious, the last thing you want to do is eat, but once its passed and your back to normal, you realise that your body is hungry. i think once your anxiety is under control, your food thing will naturally dissapear.

Have you mentioned this to your doctor? I have a similar issue when I cut down on food... I get the 'shakes' something terrible. My doctor called it hypoglycemia.. my sugar levels drop. So, I've learned to eat a little all day, and when the shakes come, drink some juice or eat some fruit. Definitely mention it to your doctor, simple changes in eating habits may be the answer:)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
