This may not be the proper place to post this question, but here goes. My dog got into snail bait on Wednesday night. He almost died. The gardener and I had an agreement that no snail bait would be used because of the dog. His worker used it anyway. Is he responsible for the $1300 vet bill? He is just one guy with a couple of workers, not a big company. I am sure he can't afford it, but he may have liability insurance. I feel bad making him pay for it, but it was his fault. I would accept some free work to cover it. What should I do?
