You are going to have to start really tuning into your feelings. Keep a journal to begin your path of self-discovery. Find out where the feelings originally stemed from.
From what I have read, it seems to me that these feelings experienced as a child go unexpressed and unresolved. That's why they come up in adulthood, symptomized as anxiety. A therapist or counsellor can help you re-experience the feelings and try to resolve them in your own mind.
Through this process you will eventually realize this is now, and that was then and it isn't always going to be like it was. You will open yourself to new experiences that do not carry the tone of abuse.
You will begin to heal.
Also read. Get some books on abandonment issues. Read about your problem. Educate yourself. Figure it out.
