General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hi My Friends~
I wondered if any of you have Dizziness/Vertigo as your main symptom of Anxiety? Its like the chicken & the egg, I'm not sure which one came first. :) I've had low grade anxiety for a long time--been through ups & downs & have always had "classic" symptoms--heart palps, flush, even feeling faint with an attack. But about 1 1/2 years ago I went through a bad bout of vertigo--lasted couple weeks--went away, then came back a month or more later. Since then, I've had it come & go. Of course, they've done a number of tests & say everything is "ok"--(easy for them to say--they should try to live with it) And then of course, they throw it under the "Anxiety" Umbrella.
I'm sorry for rambling... I know that the Vertigo has caused anxiety, because I don't like to drive obviously, while its happening. But has anyone else had Vertigo as their Only, or main symptom?? I would love to hear how you have dealt with it--its getting very annoying.
TIA
Lisa

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I'm also wondering how to deal with this. It is very inconvenient, happening in the middle of tests, at the doctor's office, while traveling, etc. and is very uncomfortable. I'm using yoga right now and it's getting better, but if anyone has homeopathic alternatives that produce a more immediete effect that would be wonderful.
I am on lorazepam, but am not sure it is working. I am also in counseling, but only started so recently I don't know if it is going to work.
I, too, would like to hear anything people have to offer about dealing with this. Breathing techniques, etc.?
Some days are better than others, and those are the ones I look forward to!
Good luck to you.
I do tend to experience it more when I am hungry, tired, or physically strained as well, but I think that alters my mental state, which in turn causes the vertigo.
I would like to offer the suggestion of doing yoga, accompanied with meditation to help control this. I never used to believe in this kind of therapy before now, but it is really working! I feel like if your mental state can alter you so much physically in a negative way, it can work just as powerful in a positive manner too.
Although my vertigo is very uncomfortable, it does not sound as serious as some of the variations people have described. I really want to help though, so I am here if you have more specific questions on yoga or if you just need a friend! :)
I've had vertigo for about 20 years now (there is no treatment for a damaged inner ear). I had to learn how to live with the constant dizziness and ringing in my ears.
Check with your doctor and make sure you don't have something going on with your ears.
