I don’t take medication and I work in a legal/compliance department of a corporation and it’s stressful, fast paced and you deal with a lot of regulators. My anxiety is rarely triggered by work. I mean sometimes if stuff is hitting the fan I can feel heightened but I just apply some coping strategies I’ve learned over the years. It’s funny. I work very closely with two other people in my same role and they both have anxiety but it manifests itself differently for all three of us. Their’s is more social anxiety related. Mine is kind of specific to very benign occurrences. I used to have a lot of health related anxiety but I’ve got a pretty decent handle in that now.
So yeah, I guess if I were in your shoes I’d first try to determine what it is you might want to do for a career, what kind of jobs interest you, etc. I mean being in a job you hate may affect your anxiety more than one you really like.
I do well with work. I have social phobia so it's the connecting with people that creates chaos and confusion for me.
