This is an example of how your mind and anxiety can feed on each other. This is what happened to me. One morning I woke up as usual to an attack of anxiety. My heart was skipping a few beats and beating around 110 and I was starting to get a little chest pain also. I laid in bed trying to talk to myself and do some breathing to calm down and convince myself that I was not having a heart attack it was just anxiety. When all of a sudden the bed started to shake. My mind immediately told me we were having an earthquake. Now as you know chances of an earthquake in Ohio is pretty slim at best but not to me that day. I immediately told myself I had to get up out of bed and go a doorway or bathroom or some place safe right.? Oh no, what to my surpriseI could not move my legs. I went crazy. I was paralyzed. I started to yell for help to my husband. He came in and asked what the matter was. I said didnt you feel that earthquake? Im paralyzed help me get up out of bed we have to go to a safe place. Now he is sane so you can just imagine the look on his face when I said that. He said there was no earthquake and what the hell is the matter with me. What is this You are not parallized. Theres no earthquake. He continued to say I know what the problem is just look at your legs. Well naturally I couldnt because now Im paralyzed even up to my neck and cant move my head. So he grabed my head and lifted it up for me and said now take a good look. I looked down and what to my surprise but my 20lb cat was laying on my legs. Not only was he laying on my legs so they could not move but he had been scratching himself thus the bed was shakeing. So my husband told me I was ok there was no earthquake it was just my panic and the cat. He got the cat out of bed and then I sat up relieved that it was all in my head. Even my heart attck was gone with all the excitement. I took a xanax and calmed myself down. I think my husband could have used one too with the ordeal that I put him through. So now you can see what your panic and brain can create in symptoms. Hope this helps you in some way.
