Well I think you should talk to your doctor first. If you don\'t have one you should get one for sure. I take zoloft, Effexor and Clonopin. I have mild depression and used to have severe panic atticks. I started on the zoloft on very small doses then increased it slowly to 100mg. I started to feel better but as I grew older I had faced new challeges in life. I left my family and friends a few ago for work. I am pretty much stay to myself and shelter myself from the outside world. I have no friends and I don\'t go out. I go to work and then I come home. I sometimes wonder if the meds just cover my emotions? I will say without adding Effexor I would continued having panic attacks. Now I feel much better and the attacks stopped along with phycho therapy. It\'s no just one thing that will work. It could be as simple as talking to someone on a weekly basis. I write my thoughts on paper. It\'s still hard to feel 100% all the time. We all have ups and downs. You have to tell you doctor how you feel because what works for me may not work for you. It\'s trial and error. Meds can only do so much... I still have anxiety but not as bad anymore. I have to learn to deal with stress the best way. I do it by myself. Yes it\'s lonely being alone but I got used to being alone. The next step is start to go out places other than work. I would try one med first then adding another if things dont change untill you find the best one for you. I hope this helps. Good luck

Many of the same meds are prescribed for depression as for anxiety. The most important thing is to work with a knowledgeble doctor to manage your meds.

When I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder, I was given the anti-anxiety med "Buspar" This helped my panic attacks a great deal. I took this along with an anti-depressant. I had panic attacks all the time. I developed agoraphobia so any time I would think about or try to leave my house, I would panic. These meds helped me get out of the house within a couple of months. My doctor told me that I was going to have to fight it too. The meds help but we have to do alot of mental training as well. Ask your Doctor about Buspar or look it up. It saved me!

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
