I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse today. After reading a bit about the symptoms that go with it, anxiety, shortness of breath and depression are sometimes related to it. Anyone here have MVP also? And how is it to live with it? Thanks, Julia

Well, I was diagnosed with MVP about 20 years ago when I was having panic attacks....it never bothered me other than having to take anti-biotics when I got my teeth cleaned.....but now my doc says I don't have it and he wonders if I was given the wrong dx....I no longer have panic attacks....just social anxiety....but I believe MVP shouldn't have to change your lifestyle very much.....hope that helps!

I have MVP. I had the "bubble test" done and that's how they found it. They wanted to give me beta blockers....but I never took them

I have a very slight cause of MVP 20% of americans have it. Nothing to be worry about. Most people with MVP never know they have it. Anxiety can cause it to flare up and we all think we have a heart problem so we have it checked and they find MVP.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
