General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Am i the only one who is scared to take meds?
People think i refuse them for attention but how can this be? They see what i suffer from i would do anything to stop this hell.
The reason i have anxiety is completly 100% my fault, no one elses but mine.
When i was in college i used to smoke drugs as a peer pressure thing, one day i get involved with something i shouldnt - i smoked a 'bad' joint, it sent me into complete hell, i was seeing things, i was convinced i was gonna die, i tried to sleep but everything was blury i was hearing things, i had a 4 hour long panic attack.
Days after that had happened i was anxious - what if this drug was in my body still and was gonna attack again? That was 2 years ago and ever since ive suffered anxiety everyday.
So whenever im offered drugs from my doctor i take them thinking 'this will finally put a stop to this hell' but i go home and read the side effects - 'this can make your anxiety worse, you might see things that arent there, blood clots' etc.. and this throws me into panic even though i havnt touched the meds.
I have never shared my story on how this all began and i didnt really want to, but i hope this helps some of you see why i cant take meds therfore i will never probably get help.

yesday I was walking the same block I've walked for a year. I walked pass the German Shepards house and he came out the door of the fence and went straight for my yorkies neck. I went into Mama bear mode jumped on the back of the German Shepard all 100 pounds of me and wrestled with a German Shepard that weighs more than me. When I jumped on him like a horses back. I had dish gloves on and...

theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
The side effects that are listed for drugs happen extremely rarely but have to be put there for legal reasons. It always says..."if this happens stop taking and inform your doc." So if by a remote chance you do get one of the side effects it's very easily remedied..ie...stop taking it. Also...you seem to be cofusing the drugs you took 2 years ago were bad drugs with the ones youur doc gives you are good drugs designed to help you to get better.
Thats good you finally shared your story...maybe now you can start to put that period of your life aside and look at the present and prepare for the future.

I also have to agree with Marigold about the side effects lables. I know that here in the states, the manufacturers have to list every side effect that happened during clinical trials. If one person got a headache, they have to put it in the side effects listings. Medications can help to control symptoms, but they don't cure the cause. Don't feel badly if you don't want to take medications. There are a lot of people who don't want to. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who do. What you need to think about is what is right for you. Just because something is right for someone else does not mean that it is right for you.
Correct me if i'm wrong Ems but i believe you are scared to take any meds for anything at all?? Right?? This can be a problem as sometimes they are necessary for regaining or maintaining health. ie antibiotics, heart and stomach meds etc.
