i am new to this community...been a member of the depression community for a month and recently decided to avoid the discussion board there. i was taken to the ER from work last night...thought i was having a heart attack or something, turned out to be a full blown anxiety attack they said. i was terrified...but relieved at the same time. any advice on how to deal with this new dx...i don't know what to think.

Have tests run just to double check the pick up Claire Weekes book. Can't remember the name but if you google it, it will come up everyone in here swares by it. Welcome!!

what caused your anxiety attack it seems something within you made you panic I have had this feeling many times but you need to focus on where it came from take some deep breathes and try to relax.

i am to see a doctor on monday morn...it was just a bad night...i'm a waitress, i don't really know what might have triggered it. thanks for the advice...

I am so sorry you experienced that, it must have been really frightening. My husband had a heart attack 20 years ago and a couple of times since then we thought he was having another attack and it turned out to be anxiety attacks. They are not caused by the same thing, but they can feel the same because the fear can make you hyperventiate and have pounding and pain in your chest. I hope you figure out what your trigger is and can get it sorted out...hugs jilly

same thing happened to me. took me to er because they thought i was having a heart attack. turns out a panic attack. it was very scary. i did follow up with a heart stress test though just to make sure and it turned out alright. now my meds help me a lot. good luck to you!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
