hi again everyone,
i am on day 24 of essentially a cold turkey withdrawal from clonazepam. i do not advocate cold turkey withdrawal by any means, but i was basically forced to do it b/c my doctor refused to refill my prescription without telling me he was going to do that the last time i saw him. then i just decided to ride it out instead of crossing over to a different benzo. anyway, i am still on 20 mg of lexapro and i am sure that has kept my anxiety in check, but i have had several different withdrawal symptoms, including flulike symptoms, dizziness, intermittent headache, muscle aches, insomnia (helped by bananas), muscle twitches, chest tightness/fullness, acid reflux, night sweats and bizarre dreams. i listed them in chronological order, and the last three symptoms are the predominant ones lately.
like everyone else, i am just trying to stay positive and believe that one day i will feel much better. i consider myself lucky because i am still able to work, exercise and do normal daily activities. i read self-help books, practice deep breathing, think positively and hang self-help mantras all over my house. some days are harder than others, but i am determined to overcome this and feel better. one of the most important things that i have learned in the last six months is that life can change without warning and at any time, and so i want to enjoy it as much as possible and not let fear and anxiety control it.
anyway, i just wanted to share my story and send positive vibes to everyone that is going through, anxiety, panic and/or benzo-related problems. i hope that one day all of us will be success stories!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Your attitude is fabulous, Colleen compared to when I first touched base with you. Very very good !
Keep up the fabulous work, and yes you WILL get better. Be patient, it takes time :)
