Angina Support Group
Angina pectoris is chest pain due to ischemia (a lack of blood and hence oxygen supply) to the heart muscle, generally due to obstruction or spasm of the coronary arteries (the heart's blood vessels). Coronary artery disease, the main cause of angina, is due to atherosclerosis of the cardiac arteries.

Hi everybody, I am a newcomer to this forum and would like to say hello from England to the circle of people coming to terms with Angina. I was diagnosed (single vessel)by angiogram in May 2006 and waited until Feb 07 for a perfusion test to back this up. I was told in May 06 that angioplasty was not planned due to the complicated positioning of the narrowing. However, after the thallium test in 07, I was offered angioplasty. The problem for me was that the eliments of danger had not changed, only the evidence supporting it. I chose not to have the angioplasty and thus far have not regretted this move. I do though have to put up with many chest pains and tiredness and am starting to believe that many of these pains could be side effects of drugs that I take to help me, not nessecarily my heart. I would hate to get this wrong so
I would welcome any communication from any angina sufferer on my or your predicaments.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Did you self cease your Atorvastatin or was it removed by your Doctor ? I personally have noticed that when my meds are dropped or changed my body freaks out in one way or another . I hope there are people here who can give you info on personal experience with Chelation treatment.
I first heard about it at the clinic when a couple of guys were discussing it and one of them has taken the treatment for an impessive number of yearts and looked in great shape so I got in on the conversation . The doctor overheard the whole conversation and later thanked me for questioning it and its cost . She said it is an unproven therapy and expensive but when you look at the info and how popular it has become it looks like it really may work . The results look awfully good in the long term . I hope you find someone who has taken Chelation Therapy .
