Anger Management Support Group
Anger management commonly refers to therapeutic techniques by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce their emotions. Typical examples include the use of deep breathing and meditation as a means to relaxation. Psychologists recommend a balanced approach, which both controls the emotion and allows it to express itself in a healthy way.

this might sound one of the most unusual things to have ever been written but never mind
there are certain things which just make me go absolutley mad and for a while i didnt know why until i had a good think about it and it started to make sense a bit but i wanted some one else opinion so her goes
when i watch tv and see any violence especially to do with men or private areas and people laugh i go f-ing psycho! i start punching things and kicking things etc cry scream you know how it goes!
for example if i watch something like football factory and you see them all fighting and luaghing at others being in pain etc like when 2 younger ones get darts thrown at their chest get kicked in the balls and people laugh i go mad
it has really affected my life with my freinds and family and partner who is sick to death of me when it comes to things like this
i really realised it affected me like this when i watched dodgeball with him, i got into it about 10 mins and my boyfriend was laughing his head off and i just wanted to punch his face in for thinking it was funny so i went off my head and cried and punched the bed and couldnt calm down for about a good half hour
then i was watching BCFC play football and some one got hurt and everyone was just acting like he should just get on with it and laughing at him so i went mad then
these instances are just the tip of the ice berg and it effected/effects my every day life to the point where i cant go see films because if something is in one that i wont like i would walk out of the cinema crying going mad ( and this has happened a few times)
there are subjects of talking points which i have to steer clear of because i cant deal with talking about it
for instance peadophillia and rape and subjects like that
(i know alot of people who will read this will have had experiences ralating to this matter and i dont mean to offend nor 'damp down' their feelings i just want to voice my opinion and get some advice - i too have had experiences in these cases so i am not speaking niavely)
i was once in a pub and the subject of a 2 year old getting raped was brought up and someone said that the guy should be burried up to his knees in cement and left with dogs to be savaged and killed - i went f-ing mental when that was said in the middle of the pub and this caused arguments between me and my boyfriend as our opinions differ greatly on this subject
to me, people do things for reasons (that person who did it will have had either mental problems or may have had it done to him
am sure every one will be thinking well i have had this and that done but its not making me want to do it but everyone is different i think people who do this kind of thing need help not jail or death or worse and the fact that people think this kind of thing should be done to people of this nature makes me feel sick and SO ANGRY i want to it something just writing about it now!!!
also in my repetuar i think women get it a hell of a lot easier than men in the fact that if they get hurt some one will rush over to help them and if a man gets hurt he is just supposed to pick himself up and move on!! just because we hace different sexual pieces doesnt mean men have less feelings!!!!
so i want other peoples opinions (eventhough i might not like them all) to help me talk about this problem and either prove me wrong or right but help me stop feeling so utter shit about things that shouldnt even affect me!!
i have put it all mainly down to bullying (or so my therapist put it down to) me not wanting to see or hear about any one else getting hurt but that doesnt stop me acting like an idiot in my every day life and i just dont know how to cope with it all
please help

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My family has a weird twist about the way emotions are handled: my father is probably an undiagnosed asperger's and my sister has an organic personality disorder (we think she may be a high functioning autistic). Any sort of distress tends to get very quickly translated into some sort of tantrum, expressed as anger. There have been times when it has felt like the only way to get my family members to understand that I'm having some feelings too is to have a meltdown in front of them. They aren't hard-wired for empathy and subtlety doesn't work.
There have been episodes of I Love Lucy that I've had to tune out (when the over-the-top arguing and wailing begin) because the sound of it was too close to home. It's like I'm identifying so much with the emotional pain that it drowns out the rest of the story. Probably why I end up watching SpongeBob.
The question in my mind then is I wonder if you are doing a similar thing - so empathetic to the one in pain that it's bringing up a reaction to your own pain? If it is as bad as you hint at, perhaps it's not so surprising that you have such a vehement reaction when you see it.
hope your begin to deal with that emotion soon it sounded very angry did that message i hope your ok
