Aneurysms Support Group
An aneurysm (or aneurism) is localized, blood-filled dilation (bulge) of a blood vessel caused by disease or weakening of the vessel wall. Aneurysms most commonly occur in arteries at the base of the brain and in the aorta - this is an aortic aneurysm. This bulge in a blood vessel can burst and lead to death at any time.

I am 26 my boyfriend had an anuerysm rupture last year, they couldn't find the anuerysm at first and he spent two and half weeks flat on his back in pain and thinking he might die at any moment. Amazingly he got through it, no cognitive problems or motor function issues. A couple months later he went back to work. After a week back at work the doctor calls, they need to operate right away. It was a very stressfull time and we decided to have the coiling procedure. That went okay and he recovered, again with no cognigtive or functional losses.
Everyday I can't believe he is still here, but I am terrified of it happening again. To this day I cry when an ambulance rushes by. I know this may seem ridiculous but I can't help it, I know that I should concentrate on each day I have with him and be thankful. I am so scared of losing him, of the coil becoming impacted or the anuerysm rupturing again.
Do people survive this and never have any problems ever again?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
