Anemia Support Group
Anemia (or anaemia), which literally means "without blood," is a deficiency of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin. This results in a reduced ability of blood to transfer oxygen to the tissues, and this causes hypoxia; since all human cells depend on oxygen for survival, varying degrees of anemia can have a wide range of clinical consequences.

But it's amazing how my doc doesn't seem to explain much to me. After reading here, I have all the symptoms. Although, I must say ; my breathing is much better now that I have put myself on Vitamin supplements. My doc told me to take D-3, but suggested nothing else. I'm taking a multple vitamin, B-100 complex, Potassium (was told I was low), folic acid (was told I was low) and D-3 (was told to take that). My breathing has already improved.
But you'd think an internist would sit me down and explain things to me, or run some more tests and send me to other specialists to run more tests ..... to find out why. I had the smarts to ask why she thought I was anemic, but her reply was mostly vague. No real answer. When I red up on the net about enlarged red blood cells there was some scary stuff. I have recieved a call from her office that my liver and kineys are ok and that is certainly a relief. Any one know if that means it's just that I run down from poor diet. I confess my diet really was pretty poor.
thanks for listening

That's good your Dr is at least suggesting vitamins because many do not. If you have a health food or vitamin store nearby find someone who knows what they are talking about andt get information. I went to a Feel Right store close to me and there was a nutritionist that I met with. We went over health issues, diet and suppliments and I have more energy now ( :

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
