Today I went on my first trial walk with my temp. leg. I'm 4 weeks post op but things have been healing well. I'm gonna have the suction socket. I was surprised how wabbley I was although it's been 2 years since I've put full weight on it. But the end of my stump was really sore. It felt like a really bad muscle cramp. Doctor says it'll toughen up and wont bother me. But I can tell it'll take some getting used to. I also have to get used to feeling the balance on the center of the foot. And lifting my leg with my hip. There's not much spring in my step :o) It's hard to know how things are supposed to feel cause I don't know what to compare it to. So I thought I'd ask you all to share with me what it was like when you first walked. How you felt, where it hurt and how long it took to walk "normal"

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
