I had an AKA in MArch and had an early fitting where I was walking with my prosthesis 3 days post op. To make a VERY long story short, I elected to have an AKA now vs. in the future (hx of bone cancer 20+yrs and limb sparing surgery), because of hardware failure. My question is, I recently got my new prosthesis (OSSUR TOtal knee w/ articulating ankle, suction socket) meaning 3 days ago and I already can walk without crutches, which is WONDERFUL, don't get me wrong. I went out yesterday w/ my son(4yrs) and walked quite a bit w/ 1 crutch, but my groin is killing me! Is it too tight? I am calling tomorrow to get in w/ my prostetist, but wonder if I will ever get used to this??
