I went to the orthotist today and got my first BK temporary leg. I got a bag full of socks, liner, and sleeves. God almighty I hope I can keep them all straight. I walked out of the doctors on my cane. I carried my crutches in, but didn't use them. I think the hardest part is getting the first couple of steps right and how to position my knee to take the pressure off the bottom of the short limb. I started with a number three sock, but it might be time to try a number five because it feels like I am really sinking down into the leg. Any help, suggestions or just plain comments would be welcome.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
