I spent many years in the navy during the Veitnam war and have lived here in Fayetteville, NC, next to Fort Bragg since I was in the second grade. I've lost quite a few friends due to wars and have known many more that have been to war. My son was in Iraq for a year in 2004 - 2005 in the army. I have to say that was the hardest year of my life. I feel so bad for those who lost loved ones and I know the pain. No one should suffer it. I do not agree with the reason we first went to war in Iraq but I know now that I'd rather be fighting the terrorists over there than on our shores. I also believe that there will always be wars because there's alway going to be someone who does not believe as we do and there will be those who want what we have. It sucks but men are greedy and greed fuels war. I also believe that our freedom and way of life are worth fighting and dying for. I wish it wasn't so but it is.
God Bless America
