My husband and I are caring for my mother with dementia in her home and have had to hire someone to sit with her while we work. We have her home on the market for sale so that we can put her into assisted living. She has a little equity that would help with that care. I applied to the VA back in November (when her doctor finally filled out the form)and we are still waiting to hear from them for assistance. The sitter wants to be paid cash only (as most of them want.) We have gotten a little behind in my mom's house payment as well as other bills as we have run up some credit cards trying to make ends meet. My husband and I are trying to protect our credit as best we can so that we will be able to buy a small retirement home when my mom's house sells. It seems so hopeless. I don't know where to turn. My mother also has some credit card bills. Before my mother required a sitter I had been in the hospital last spring twice and had surgery , was out of work for 3 months and that put us behind then. Just as we were getting caught up my mother needed assistance. I would appreciate your prayers for my mom as well as help for our financial situation. Thank you!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
