Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Funny thing is that as time went by my bottoms took much less time to reach. My last drinking period was only nine months...it's the one that I finally decided to reach for help.
As I've heard another say, "A bottom is when we stop digging and reach up"
If you are looking for experiences to compare yourself with stop. Problem is we alchies like to say, "I'm not that bad" or "that will never happen to me". If you're one that can relate to those statement then perhaps you need only think YET, your eligible too.
I still have some yet(s)...but thank you no. I'll just accept that I am a real alcoholic and do what a recovering alcoholic does.
Thanks.:)
